Laparoscopy. Laparoscopy is done using a laparoscope. A laparoscope is a thin tube that contains a lighted camera at its front end. Through a tiny incision on the belly, the surgeon inserts his laparoscope and has a look into the pelvic cavity including the fallopian tubes.
Hysterosalpingogram (HSG). The doctor sprays a special dye into the cavity of the uterus and observes the flow of the dye through x-ray imaging. Obstructed flow in the fallopian tube could indicate a blockage in the tube.
A sonohysterosalpingography. In this test, sterile air with saline fluid is sprayed into the woman’s uterus via the cervix. To detect the blockage, a transvaginal ultrasound is done by the doctor at the same time.
